The Motor City Madman “Jason Jones”

National Compact Touring Series Driver Spotlight

The Motor City Madman

Jason Jones has earned the nick name the Motor City Madman with his dedication to the sport traveling the Midwest for the love of racing. It all started seven years ago with his first race at Merritt Speedway in Lake City, Michigan on dirt. Jason’s passion for the sport is backed by his sponsors: US Speedo, Muffler Man on Pierson Rd, Performance Auto, Tribo Dyn Lubricants, Kyle Racing Productions, Jason Pictures, Pooh’s Place Day Care Group, and RW Transmission. The Whittemore Speedway is his favorite track, but he really enjoys the environment of the Onaway Speedway home to the “Compact Frenzy”, the biggest race on the National Compact Touring Series schedule in 2022. The greatest memory so far in his racing career was picking up the win at Northern Michigan Speedway with all his kids in victory lane just a few weeks ago.His first win came at Merritt Speedway five years ago, just one day after his brother Jeremy passed. He’s accomplished so much in his racing career such as picking up the Rookie of the Year in his first season at Merritt in his Mustang while collecting the 2021 Birch Run track championship. He currently holds two track records one on the 1/4 mile at Birch Run and the other at Onaway in their weekly Front Wheel Drive Class. While he has used the number 86 while completing the clean sweeps up at the Whittemore Speedway a few times over the years. He changed his number to 11J as a tribute to Eric Vallent one of the best Mini Stock drivers in history in the eyes of Jason. The 2022 season has Jason traveling with the National Compact Touring Series and is currently second in points with three races to go on the tour schedule. He’s fueled his 2022 season with what he calls the “Freedom Fail” with his unsuccessful trip to the Freedom Factory in his eyes with a ton of redemption picking up several wins and top fives in during the 2022 season.
