CW Motorsports – Championship Team
(Battle Creek, MI) Carlos Pizzaro and Will Slaughter formed CW Motorsports in 2019 in the Outlaw Front Wheel Drive class at the Galesburg Speedway. Carlos is a veteran stock car driver that has raced all through Southwest Michigan over a few decades. Will Slaughter has been racing for twenty-three years at what he considers his home track, the Galesburg Speedway. Will started racing in the Mini-Stock class where he picked up his first career feature win at the Galesburg Speedway. Will made the switch over to the Burg-Stock class which is a stock Front Wheel Drive division at Galesburg where he picked up his first track championship in 2016. He was driving for the late Bob Pierce who Carlos was a crew member for during the 2017 season the year that saw Will move up to the Outlaw Front Wheel Drive class.
The 2019 season saw Will and Carlos race local racetracks around the Battle Creek, Mi area such as Galesburg Speedway, Spartan Speedway, M-40 Speedway, and Kalamazoo Speedway in the Outlaw Front Wheel Drive class. The pandemic hit during the 2020 season seeing Will and Carlos bounce between the Galesburg and M-40 Speedway scoring many feature wins. The 2021 season saw Will and Carlos venture away from the home track to race with the National Compact Touring Series while still competing at Kalamazoo and Galesburg Speedways on there off nights from the tour. Will picked up his first Kalamazoo Speedway track championship in 2021 in the Outlaw Front Wheel Drive class. Will also finished 2nd place in points in the National Compact Touring Series that season as well. His teammate Carlos picked up a top five in series points the same year.
Since joining the National Compact Touring Series CW Motorsports has raced at 14 different tracks including at the Freedom Factory which saw Will and Carlos both pick up heat race wins against the nation’s top compact cars. Will also just missed picking up his biggest feature win ever finishing 2nd at Cleetus McFarland’s speed plant. Carlos and Will showed why first class equals championships as their team was found picking up trash after the event and making sure the speedway was left the way we it was found. After starting the 2022 season off in impressive fashion at the Freedom Factory the team has followed up that success with Will picking up a National Compact Touring Series feature win at Kalamazoo Speedway and also picking up the first ever Front Wheel Drive Nationals win at his local track. Carlos even showed his muscle by picking up a top 10 finish with National Compact Touring Series at Onaway Speedway’s Compact Frenzy, competing against forty-seven other drivers. Will also just recently picked up the Hot Shoe 100 weekend feature at Springport Speedway and defending his track championship at the Kalamazoo Speedway for the 2022 season. The CW Motorsports team represents class and championships and can’t wait to see what the 2023 season brings against the top teams from across the country.
